If this isn’t possible feedback from previous learner drivers is often a great way to gauge what the driving instructor is like.
Bin-The-L-Plates prides itself on both positive feedback that it receives, examples of which can be seen on the reviews page.
A great way for new learners to decide who to chose as their instructor to to meet them in person.
A free no obligation home visit is always available and is a great opportunity to ask questions about the learning experience and decide if Bin-The-L-Plates is for you.

Your Instructor

Clive Copeland DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (Car)

Having an ability to create a relaxed environment in which the pupils learn, enables me to take the stress and fear out of learning to drive.
This makes the learning enjoyable and nervous pupils quickly learn to relax and go on to achieve their dreams, which is to pass the driving test.
I am sympathetic to the needs of all my students and the learning process is tailored to each individual pupil.
I use a variety of teching methods as well as modern coaching techniques which encourages the pupil to take responsibilty for their own learning process. This helps my students learn in a quick, safe and responsible manner making them good drivers for not just the dreiving test but for Safe Driving for Life.
I have experience in teaching puils with learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Asperger Syndrome.

I am also Vice-Chairman of the North Staffs Driving Instructors Association.

All Approved Driving Instructors have to be assessed on a regular basis by the DVSA to check that they are delivering a high standard of tuition.
This assessment is called a Standards Check and upon completing the Senior Examiner will grade the instructor based on 3 categories, these being Lesson Planning, Risk Management and Teaching & Learning Strategies.
The grade will either be an ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade or judged to be ‘Fail’.
I am proud to have been assessed at an ‘A’ grade.

Standards Check

If someone had told me I would pass my driving test first time with just 3 minor faults 6 months ago I would have never believed them.
I was so nervous behind the wheel and my previous instructors did not help the situation so I gave up for a few years. Then I saw the great reviews Bin-The-L-Plates had and decided to give it another go.
Within a few weeks of having lessons with Clive I felt so relaxed and calm and much more confident in my driving ability. Clive is a fantastic driving instructor – he’s not only informative, but also makes driving fun and simple.
My manoeuvres were a lot easier by using Clive’s simple methods of tackling them.
I would highly recommend Clive to anyone thinking of learning to drive or anyone who’s had previous instructors and had no success. I can’t thank Clive enough for helping me overcome my nerves and become a confident driver. He really knows his stuff when it comes to driving tuition.
Thank you Clive, it’s been a pleasure. :).
